嗨,我的男人 Hi, My Man: Chapter 1.1

Tada! I present to you a new book translation:

Title: 嗨,我的男人 – Hi, My Man

Author: 漫漫红糖水 – Man Man Hong Tang Shui

I’m in the mood to translate something lighthearted, in between translating all the drama that’s happening over at Season. The best thing about this novel is that the original author had already split the chapters into multiple sections, so that each part is really short. I don’t really know anything about the storyline except that it’s supposed to be a hilarious and easy read, with minimal angst.

I already love the relationship between the main girl and her father. It’s cute that she calls her father “old man” LOL. That’s how my mom and older sis call my dad.

FOOD DIARY: Seafood My Love

My family dined at the King Crab Seafood Restaurant yesterday for Victoria Day. Needless to say, I was very impressed with the food. Generally, this style of restaurant is more popularly opened uptown, in Markham or Scarborough. However, now I can enjoy giant king crabs and lobsters in the middle of Chinatown as well. *smiles gleefully* And the price is very reasonable too, especially if you order the smaller combos. I’m looking forward to going back, albeit with a smaller budget  =)

Happy eye-feasting!

FOOD DIARY: Happy Mother’s Day!

Wishing all the mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day!

Another update on some of the food I’ve had recently that I’d remembered to capture. Confession Time: I really don’t have the habit of taking food pictures before eating. Now that I’ve decided to share it on my blog, I’ve been making a conscious effort to do it more often.  However, this still depend on who I’m dinning with. Sometimes, it feels super awkward, while other times, it seems so natural. I’ll just go with the flow for now ~~

Every restaurant on this list, I’ve been to multiple times before. Whether it’s because I really liked it, or out of convenience. And some I probably won’t be returning to ever again.

FOOD DIARY – Let’s Try Something New

To kick start this new series, I want to share some food I tried over the Easter Long Weekend. This post is technically long overdue. I was suppose to post it last week but got too busy -.-

The main purpose of this series is actually to help myself in diversifying the food I intake when dining out. Confession time, I’m a creature of habit. When I find something I like, I tend to use that as my default choice. This is very evident in my meals, especially when I have’t researched prior to leaving the house. I fallback on the same restaurants and choose the same dishes in those restaurants. While there’s nothing wrong with eating what I like, but it’s definitely good to broaden my horizon and discover all the different food this city has to offer. Especially in a city as diverse and multicultural as Toronto, we definitely are not lacking in selections. So…by keeping a food diary, I hope I will make a conscious choice in trying new food.
